Title IX Investigations

Protecting students, protecting the university

Title IX of the Education Amendments of the 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities that receive federal funds. Title IX not only covers sexual discrimination, but it also pertains to sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Title IX requires education institutions to act quickly to accusations of sexual harassment and sexual assault, and to conduct an investigation independently of the law enforcement investigation. Emissary staff has experience investigating these types of sensitive situations and interviewing victims of all types. Our objective and empathetic interviews are designed to cause the least amount of distress to a person in this type of emotional situation.

Emissary has the capability to respond quickly to Title IX complaints to ensure the education institution meets their obligation to Title IX and to the students and staff.
